Your new role A huge take away about the culture within this GC is how they are setup to support the Superintendent so that you can get the best from your vendors.
The back office will be on call to give the superintendent what they need, when they need it.
This will enable the superintendent to best support the client, the vendors, and sub contractors to keep the project moving forwards quickly, and efficiently.
Your new roles responsibilities: Responsible for all the field staff on a project and will make sure that projects are built according to plans and specifications.
They will supervise work of carpenters, laborers and subcontractors.
They are responsible, along with Project Manager for having the material, tools/equipment, information and staff requirements on the jobsite in the proper place in a timely fashion.
The Superintendent handles all correspondence and forms required by the office* office, i.e., daily reports, time sheets, safety reports, accident reports, etc.
They will monitor the work being performed, direct the subcontractors and schedule all work according to the requirements of the project schedule.
The superintendent effectively utilizes management skills in directing supervision of subcontractors, along with coordinating subcontractor's activities within the scope of their duties. Construction Software: Procure | MS projects | Smart sheets for scheduling.

What you'll need to succeed As a superintendent you will be a "hands on", have the ability to think on your feet, be confident in you decision making, and be an effective communicator.
5 - 10+ years end to end construction project experience as the main superintendent on site.
