Job Summary:
A Controls Engineer is needed for a world leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives in the Mossville, IL area. This role focuses on developing and validating control strategies for battery electric applications, conducting performance and validation testing for Lithium-Ion systems, and effectively communicating technical results across teams in a collaborative, hands-on lab environment.

Salary: $35.71 - 50.00 per hour
Work Hours: 8am to 4pm

Responsibilities:Conduct Software HIL bench tests using OPAL-RT.Support performance and validation lab tests for Lithium-Ion battery systems.Analyze data from conformance, performance, and validation testing protocols.Develop, validate, and deploy control strategies for battery electric applications.Ensure reliable software performance through structured testing on HIL systems and Lithium-Ion battery platforms.Collaborate with lead engineers, cross-functional teams, and department partners.Actively engage with controls engineers to understand and execute test/simulation requirements.Skills:Proficiency in Matlab/Simulink and ControlDesk.Hands-on experience in HIL/SIL validation.Knowledge of battery management systems.Desired Skills:Control system design knowledge.Familiarity with validation tools like OPAL-RT and dSpace.Experience with plant model integration.Understanding of electrical components used in HIL benches (e.g., switches, sensors, actuators).Knowledge of CANape, ET, ECM tools, and embedded software.Education and Experience:Engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or related field.2-4 years of experience in relevant technical areas.Qualifications:Experience level: ExperiencedEducation: BachelorsSkills:ControlsTestingValidationEqual Opportunity Employer: Race, Color, Religion, Sex, Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, National Origin, Age, Genetic Information, Disability, Protected Veteran Status, or any other legally protected group status.
