Job Description

As the cook at Westfields Hospital & Clinic, you will perform a variety of patient food services that include:
Preparing, seasoning and cooking food for the hospital and clinic patients, staff and visitors, and ensures that meals are ready at specified times.
Determining types and quantities of meats, vegetables, and soups to be prepared by reviewing planned menus.
Determining amount of foods needed to meet weekly menus and submits order to the department manager or designee.
Preparing fruit and vegetables using kitchen hand utensils.
Preparing special diet foods as needed.
Arranging plates in an appetizing manner. Measuring and mixing ingredients according to approved recipes using blenders, mixers, grinders, slicers, etc.
Work Schedule: Casual position to fill in for PTO requests and sick calls (morning shift: 5:45am-1:45pm and afternoon positions) with every third weekend rotation from 11:30am-7:30pm.
Required Qualifications: High school graduate or equivalent.
Ability to calculate measurements in recipes to increase or decrease servings required.
Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in hospital food preparation preferred. Food sanitation certificate preferred.
