Pre-employment screenings and background checks will be conducted for all viable candidates.* POSITION: CORPORATE CONTROLLER DEPARTMENT: ACCOUNTING REPORTS TO: CFO MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field, or equivalent business experience and 5-10+ years previous experience as a controller. Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) required. Experience with real estate accounting and hospitality accounting preferred. Must be able to work independently, handle multiple tasks and provide accurate data. Experience with Timberline preferred but not required. Excellent Excel skills required. SUMMARY: To manage a department providing information, primarily financial in nature, about all Company activities that will assist management, its shareholders and other users in making educated economic decisions about the Company's future. Ensure proper controls are in place throughout the company.

Position involves both direct responsibilities as well as oversight. Candidate should have unquestionable integrity, excellent accounting skills, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work closely with other department heads in a collaborative manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Oversee the activities of the Accounting Department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements. Manage the monthly and year-end close, including journal entry preparation and review, financial analysis and accurate and timely financial reporting. Monthly reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts. Manage fixed assets and capitalization policies. Provide accurate calculations of annual depreciation schedules and capital expenditures. Oversee and direct the timely completion of the annual budget, ensuring reasonable assumptions. Work with the outside accounting firm to provide all year-end financial information to assure corporate income tax compliance for the accurate and timely completion of all corporate income tax returns. Work with the outside accounting firm to ensure timely completion of the financial and 401(k) annual audits. Oversee the accounts payable function to ensure all invoices are paid in a timely manner and reasonable discounts are taken. Oversee the accounts receivable function to ensure all accounts are collected promptly. Periodic involvement in the payroll process, ensure accurate payroll tax reporting by ADP. Responsible for all other financial reporting and ensure compliance with all local, state and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings. Maintain the Timberline real estate system, prepare the monthly billings to tenants, process payments, and respond to tenant inquiries. Respond to CFO as assigned with accurate and timely work to facilitate all financial needs. Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports. Establish and maintain systems and controls which verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data, and enhance the Company's value. Communicate with co-workers, management, clients, and others in a courteous and professional manner. Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions. Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock.
