Legence, a leader in sustainable building solutions, is seeking an experienced Corporate Counsel to join our Team. This critical role offers the opportunity to provide strategic legal guidance across litigation and labor/employment matters, supporting our rapidly growing organization.
Litigation and Labor and Employment responsibilities include: Managing litigation: Handling litigation, pre-litigation, and arbitration matters for the CompanyLabor and Employment: Working with HR department on labor and employment related legal questions and legal strategiesDeveloping legal strategies: Working with business leaders to develop and implement legal strategiesDrafting legal documents: Creating, reviewing, and negotiating agreements and other legal documentsEnsuring compliance: Ensuring that business practices comply with laws and regulationsManaging legal risks: Calculating and managing risks in litigation matters and other legal decisionsAdvising management: Providing legal advice and guidance to management and other stakeholdersCollaborating with external counsel: Coordinating with outside counsel to ensure they represent the company's best interestsMonitoring legal updates: Keeping up with changes in laws and regulations, especially in the labor and employment contextManaging legal budget: Managing the litigation legal budgetQualifications and requirements include: A J.D from an accredited law school; active bar membership in good standing10+ years experience in litigation/labor and employment lawCA law experience preferred, but not requiredIn house experience preferred, but not requiredKnowledge of legal language and practicesExceptional organizational, prioritization, and time-management skillsArbitration and mediation skillsA collaborative and business-focused mindset, with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams.We are unable to provide immigration sponsorship for this position.
