Arbor Realty Trust seeks to add a Counsel to its Legal department.
The ideal candidate has two to five years of substantive law firm or in-house experience in litigation and/or investigations, including: motion drafting and other persuasive legal writing, factual investigation and analysis, e-discovery, taking and defending depositions, oral advocacy and court appearances, and trial-related activities.
Such experience ideally includes matters within the commercial real estate or structured finance industry.


Essential Job Functions (Duties/Responsibilities)

The Counsel will have the following duties and responsibilities:

Conduct legal and factual analysis in connection with potential and actual legal disputes Develop and execute legal strategy Provide legal advice on all aspects of potential and actual legal disputes Work closely with legal, compliance, and business stakeholders to achieve strategic goals Coordinate with outside counsel as necessary Qualifications Education: Juris Doctorate (JD) required.


Experience: Minimum of 2-5 years of litigation or investigations experience.
Admission to practice in New York or ability to register as in-house counsel in New York.
Experience with commercial real estate or structured finance preferred.

Arbor Realty Trust, Inc. offers a competitive base salary and discretionary bonus.
The starting base salary range for this position is $209,000 to $239,000.
The specific compensation that will be offered is based on an understanding of the hired candidates' qualifications at the time of hire.
Employees are eligible for a discretionary bonus based on employee work performance reviewed during the course of the year.
The total compensation package for this position will also include other elements, a full range of medical, and/or other benefits including 401(k) eligibility and paid time off benefits.
