Position Summary/Purpose:
Grand Canyon University (GCU) maintains relationships with nonprofit organizations identified by the IRS as 501(c)(3) by virtue of their charitable programs.
The collective mission of 501(c)(3) organizations in the Phoenix Valley is to improve the quality of life for community residents or to solve particular problems related to those residents' needs.
GCU maintains a partnership with Rehoboth CDC at 2650 W. Hazelwood Street, Phoenix, AZ, 85017.
Rehoboth CDS's mission is to improve the quality of life for low- to moderate-income families in Phoenix and the Canyon Corridor neighborhoods.
The CSLP student worker's work schedule is dependent on the hours of operations and needs of Rehoboth CDC; however, CSLP student workers may not work more than 20 hours per week during the academic year (i.e., fall/spring).
CSLP: This position has been reviewed and approved as Community Service as defined by 34 CFR 675.2(b).
Per 34 CFR 675.2(b), community services are defined as, "Services which are designed to improve the quality of life for community residents, particularly low-income individuals, or to solve particular problems related to their need."
These services must be open and accessible to the community.
As an FWS-CSLP approved position, its services will be offered to non-GCU community members (i.e., local residents).

Primary Responsibilities /Accountabilities/ Essential Functions:
The People Educating and Centering Efforts (PEACE) Youth Enrichment Program collaborates with partners throughout Maricopa County to engage K-12 youth within Canyon Corridor neighborhoods in out-of-school activities and education.
Monitor and engage with youth ages 18 and younger while participating in indoor and outdoor activities such as arts and crafts, video games, basketball, and skateboarding.
Built rapport with the participants.
Assist with planning and conducting activities.
Assist with set up and breakdown of activities.
Assist with attendance taking, maintaining participant records, and dinner distribution.
Other duties as assigned.
Equipment Used and Responsibility: MS Office Suite Qualifications: Have passion and willingness to help others succeed.
Possess strong ethics, integrity, and sense of responsibility.
Must have reliable transportation.
Previous Mentoring a plus.
Ability to speak a second language a plus.
Experience/Education:
Grand Canyon University is committed to a student first policy.
Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment: Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor's program or Master's program.
Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.
You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.
