Job Title: Cyber Security Engineer Location: Fort Belvoir VA (on-site)

Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Engineer with a robust background in Department of Defense (DOD) cybersecurity protocols, preferably with experience supporting Army initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess 7+ years of overall cybersecurity experience, expertise in network security, threat analysis, and incident response within high-security environments.
Key Responsibilities: Design, implement, and manage security solutions to protect DOD systems, networks, and applications from cyber threats.
Conduct security assessments, vulnerability analyses, and penetration testing to identify and remediate potential security risks.
Develop and enforce security policies and protocols in compliance with DOD standards, including RMF, STIGs, and other DOD guidelines.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security measures into development, testing, and deployment cycles.
Lead threat-hunting efforts and monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems for potential threats.
Support incident response processes, including forensic analysis, root cause analysis, and reporting.
Provide training and guidance to teams on cybersecurity best practices, protocols, and compliance requirements.
Prepare and maintain documentation related to system security and ensure continuous improvement in security posture.
Qualifications: Experience: 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with a strong emphasis on network security, vulnerability management, and incident response.
DOD Background: Demonstrated experience in a DOD environment; Army cybersecurity experience highly preferred.
Clearance: Active Secret Clearance or higher required.
Technical Skills: Proficient with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanners, and endpoint protection platforms.
Certifications: Relevant cybersecurity certifications (CISSP, CISM, CEH, Security+, etc.) are strongly preferred.
Compliance Knowledge: In-depth understanding of DOD security standards, including RMF, NIST, and STIGs.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
