Trilogy Federal is looking for a Data Scientist/Data Analyst to support one of our large federal agency clients. The chosen candidate must have experience with the Veterans Health Administration (VHA).
Please note this position is contingent upon award (anticipated early October 2024). Eligible candidates must be able to occasionally report to the Washington D.C. office and have flexibility for traveling to customer sites. Primary Responsibilities:Develop, test, and maintain scripts using Python and SQLCreating bioinformatics pipelines with SnakemakeConduct reviews/analysis on existing Python codebasePerform version control of Python code using GitHubCreating and validating internal bioinformatics pipelines for low level sequence data in FASTQ or BAM formats from VA vendors.Identify efficiencies and make recommendations to Python codebaseAdhere to PEP8 standards and generate appropriate log entries to track the process and identify errorsDevelop PowerPoint presentations to communicate findings, observations, analysis, and recommendationsAttend and facilitate client meetingsMinimum Requirements:Bachelor's degreePrior working experience with the VHA8+ years of relevant experienceExperience with the following: Python codebase, SQL, Database design and ETL (data extraction, transform and load), SDLC, understanding of big data concepts, flat file formats (JSON, XML, Excel, CSV, etc.)Experience with bioinformatics pipeline creation using SnakemakeExperience with PEP8 (Python code) standardsDetailed understanding of python programmingDeveloping unit/panda pytest packages using automated testing hooksExperience with performing code version control using GitHubDevelop, test, and maintain scriptsFamiliar with using FASTQ or Binary Alignment Map (BAM) formatsDetailed understanding of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint) and their features/functionsStrong analytical, problem-solving, and facilitation skillsExperience with creating executive-level documentation and reportsGenerally understands IT System Development Life Cycle and Agile conceptsPossesses a solid understanding of IT architecture conceptsAbility to interface well with end-users and senior client stakeholdersAbility to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrentlyAbility to work in a fast-paced and collaborative virtual environmentDetail-oriented consulting approach, with client service focusSelf-starter with the ability to work independently and within a teamThe ability to support occasional business travelThe ability to obtain a Public Trust ClearancePreferred Qualifications:Possesses an advanced degree or credential (e.g., BIDA) in data analytics or business intelligenceBenefits (including but not limited to):Health, dental, and vision plansOptional FSAPaid parental leaveSafe Harbor 401(k) with employer contributions 100% vested from day 1Paid time off and 11 paid holidaysNo cost group term life/AD&D plan, and optional supplemental coveragePet insuranceMonthly phone and internet stipendTuition and training reimbursement$112,000 - $120,000 a year
This range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as Trilogy Federal conducts an individual equity review for every candidate based on experience, location, education, industry experience, and comparisons to internal pay bands.
