Job Description:
Own your career as a Data Scientist at GDIT. Your woek offers data science support to a team of cyber security professionals using AI/ML tools, techniques, and data modeling.
Uses data collected from a variety of cyber defense tools (e.g., IDS alerts, firewalls, network traffic logs) to consult with cyber professionals on creative means of analyzing events that occur within their environments for the purposes of mitigating threats

The Data Scientist will serve as a pivotal figure within the organization. This role demands a professional with a solid grasp of data modeling, machine learning, AI and language such as Python and SQL.
Key Responsibilities:
Work closely with cyber security teams to develop/employ machine learning techniques and algorithms to support cyber security, including detection of anomalous and malicious cyber activity
Lead and devise innovative methods and techniques to leverage AI/ML/Neural Networks etc to improve the detection of malicious activity
Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree, 5+ years of experience.
Experience in cybersecurity a plus, needs to be able to work well with a variety of subject matters experts in cyber security
Degree in Data Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Proficiency in machine learning algorithms
Neural networks and deep learning
Proficiency in data modeling and visualizations
Proficiency in one or more languages such as Python, R, and SQL
Familiarity with Data Science related Mathematics including statistics and probability, linear algebra and calculus.
Security Clearance:
U.S. Citizenship required. Candidates must be eligible for an MBI clearance and may be required to hold an active clearance at the time of application.
Travel:
Occasional travel may be required.

The likely salary range for this position is $148,000 - $222,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
