Qualifications The Department Manager will partner with the business lead of the initiative to direct the GWAM implementation. The department manager must be experienced at managing complex IT projects and implementing major change initiatives. The individual will manage and collaborate with multiple vendors and service providers, work with employees across IT and business areas motivate and direct a dedicated project team and engage with project sponsors and other senior executives. To be successful in this role the individual must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships built on transparency and trust; have broad experience managing cross-functional teams; consistently demonstrate inclusion in decision-making; and possess excellent communication skills, able to interact effectively and convey relevant information simply and clearly to all levels of the organization. The candidate must possess strong business and IT technical acumen. The candidate should be experienced with implementation methodologies including systems Development Lifecycle, Agile and/or change management. The candidate must be results oriented and possess high energy coupled with emotional intelligence. Bachelor's Degree and extensive experience (8 to 10 years) in business application services, transformative initiatives or IT infrastructure is required in addition, a minimum of five years leadership or managerial experience is required. The candidate must possess a valid driver's license and be willing and able to travel within NY City and the Bronx to attend meetings and provide support as necessary.
Responsibilities Candidate will be managing an energetic motivated team responsible for establishing the foundation, alignment, solution design and deployment, solution testing, and rollout of the Gas Work and Asset Management (GWAM) System. This system will incrementally replace and consolidate existing gas work and asset management applications and facility data with the CGI Asset and Resource Management (ARM) software suite. The candidate will also be responsible for the integration of the ARM software suite with existing Con Edison systems and processes. Candidate will work with the business to issue Request of Proposals for various aspects of this comprehensive IT solution for Gas Operations, particularly for PMO, Quality Assurance, and Information Technology system integrator services. The candidate will establish and build relationships with vendors, sponsors and stakeholders including corporate leadership.
