You will use your background, depth of knowledge, and experience to advance the organization's DevOps tools, systems, and processes, enabling us to deliver industry-leading software more quickly.The application of your skills and knowledge will enhance the capabilities and efficiency of our entire software development team in Portland. You will partner with engineers, testers, and product leadership to identify improvements and implement them either directly, or indirectly through influence and mentorship.Your TeamAt PTC Portland, our technologies have a reputation for "Quality in everything we do" and are valued in the market accordingly. Kepware Engineering is a team of Software Engineers, Software Engineers in Testing, DevOps Engineers, and Technical Product Managers dedicated to providing our customers with a robust product, enabling easy access to all of their industrial process data. We practice agile and work in small teams to create reliable and easy-to-use products.Day-To-Day:Work in an Agile process to complete projects and resolve issues with CI/CD Pipelines and systemsReview logs to debug issues in distributed environmentsReview, understand, and improve legacy systems and processesTake ownership of new projects, solutions, ideas, assignments, action items and issues, and drive them to completionLearn and leverage new technologies, and provide documentation and training for othersProvide technical direction and support to other engineering teams as they navigate DevOps-related issuesWhat you will bring to the job:2+ years of hands-on experience in Software Development, Software Test Automation, or DevOps.Strong written and verbal communication skillsProficiency in one or more programming and scripting languages (C#/.NET, Python, PowerShell, Bash preferred)Understanding of Software Development, Quality Assurance, and/or DevOps best practices, principles, and technologiesAssociate's degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field; or equivalent experienceSkills and experience that will make you stand out:Experience with one or more of the following technologiesGit SCMMSBuild, CMake, Nuke BuildGitLab CIAzureContainers (Docker, Kubernetes)SQLExperience with build and test automation pipelines/systems for native desktop applicationsFoundational understanding in one or more of Windows or Linux software development and build processesSystems administration in Linux and Windows environmentsAt PTC, we believe in the power of diverse ideas and perspectives.
