The Opportunity The Director of Field Training is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive training programs to ensure that all field squad, including franchisees and operations teams, are fully equipped with the knowledge, skills, and tools to succeed.
This role will focus on driving operational excellence, improving consistency across all locations, and supporting the overall growth and development of the field teams.
The Director of Field Training will collaborate with cross-functional teams to align training initiatives with the company's strategic goals and ensure seamless execution at the field level.
Key Responsibilities: Training Program Development: Create, implement, and continuously improve training programs for field squad, including franchisees, operations teams, and store management, to drive operational consistency and excellence across all locations.Field Support and Coaching: Provide on-site and remote coaching to field leaders and teams, helping them develop their skills and address performance gaps.
Ensure that field teams are trained on operational standards, customer service excellence, and brand consistency.Operational Standards Alignment: Ensure training programs are aligned with the company's operational standards, procedures, and brand guidelines.
Collaborate with operations leaders to assess training needs and develop content that supports field performance objectives.Leadership and Team Development: Lead the creation and execution of leadership development programs for store managers and field teams to foster a culture of continuous improvement, engagement, and talent growth.Performance Measurement: Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of training programs and initiatives.
Analyze training outcomes and use data to make recommendations for enhancements.New Can Openings: Lead training efforts for new can openings, ensuring field teams and franchisees are well-prepared to deliver consistent operations and exceptional customer experiences from day one.Training Resources and Materials: Develop and maintain a suite of training resources, including manuals, e-learning modules, workshops, and hands-on training sessions.
Ensure training materials are up-to-date, engaging, and easily accessible.Collaboration and Partnership: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Operations, HR, and Marketing, to ensure training initiatives are aligned with company goals and integrated into broader business strategies.Franchisee Support: Partner with franchisees to ensure they receive the necessary training and support to achieve operational excellence and uphold brand standards across their locations.Change Management: Lead training efforts related to company-wide changes, including the rollout of new systems, processes, or policies.
Ensure field teams are equipped to adopt changes smoothly and effectively.Continuous Improvement: Stay ahead of industry trends and best practices in training and development, incorporating innovative approaches to enhance training effectiveness and engagement. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Business, Training & Development, Organizational Development, or a related field.7+ years of experience in field training, preferably in the restaurant, retail, or hospitality industry.Proven experience in developing and executing comprehensive training programs that drive operational performance and scalability.Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, inspire, and develop field teams.Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor messages to diverse audiences.Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.Ability to travel up to 50% of the time to support field teams and store operations.
