Full-time, year-round position responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Information Technology (IT) and Institutional Research and Effectiveness (IRE) departments to include leadership for all College institutional research and information technology functions, directing department operations and planning; recommending, developing, and monitoring budgets and leading day-to-day operations.
Duties and Responsibilities: Leads all SFSC information technology functions including project management, IT Help Desk support, network and application systems, PCI compliance, network and server security controls and assurance, telecommunications, enterprise architecture oversight, and server data backup and recovery processes.Leads the Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness and implements the research agenda for the college in support of continuous quality improvement across all programs and functions, various program accreditations, successful grant applications, and information for the Board of Trustees and other constituents. Ensures all state and federal reporting is conducted in an effective and timely manner.Provides leadership in college-wide technology initiatives including but not limited to:
a. Recommending, developing, and/or implementing new technology systems.
b. Leading all activities involved with developing, testing, and implementing the College's enterprise resources planning (ERP) system.
c. Directing security administration for College IT.Collaborates with the Vice President for Administrative Services on long-range planning of college technology needs (e.g., networking infrastructure, security, etc.) and resources to meet those needs.Advises the Vice President for Administrative Services in shaping the institution's IT related policies, procedures, and planning initiatives.Chairs the Data Analysis Group and coordinates analysis of college-wide data collection efforts.Provides leadership in all college-wide research and assessment activities including but not limited to:
a. Ensuring that meaningful, appropriate/accurate data and supporting documentation is available to meet the decision-making needs of the College.
b. Establishing programs to generate necessary information and reports for internal College use and external entity requirements including preparing all federal, state, and local reports including official information about college student enrollment, faculty, student and staff characteristics.
c. Providing data and analysis to support resource development and grant applications, implementation and follow-up reports as necessary while coordinating with other senior leaders as required.
d. Consulting with faculty, staff and administrators in survey development and data collection in support of advisory committees.
e. Directing or performing studies for college, state, and federal accountability measures; assures accuracy and integrity of all College data; submits reports as required.
f. Overseeing the development, implementation and analysis of routine and ad hoc college surveys.Integrates statistical, business intelligence, and planning software to support operational and academic master planning.Provides professional development opportunities for faculty and staff that promotes evidence-based decision making.Directs and coordinates institutional research information exchanges with other institutions, regularly attends local, state, and national professional development activities.Participates in the planning, preparation, and coordination of the IT and IRE budgets and ensures that budgetary compliance is achieved from both a financial and programmatic standpoint.Responsible for coordinating, documenting, and implementing all unit action planning, outcomes assessment, and institutional effectiveness efforts within the scope of administrative supervision.Acts in accordance with local, state, and federal laws/regulations as well as College policies and procedures.Performs other duties as assigned.Requirements: Educational: Master's degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related Management Information Systems (MIS) field required.
Experiential: At least six years of managerial level experience in management information systems and/or institutional research environment including managing, and monitoring complex network and server environments required. Must demonstrate advanced knowledge of the information technology environment for a collegiate setting.
Other: Proficiency in verbal and written communication with a demonstrated ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents preferred. Ability to effectively present information to administrative staff, public groups, and board of trustees preferred. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the community preferred. Ability to solve related technology problems preferred.
