With offices in San Francisco, Santa Monica, Silicon Valley, Seattle, D.C., and New York City, the firm combines deep industry knowledge with a forward-thinking approach to practice management and client service. They are seeking a dynamic and visionary Director of Knowledge & Practice Innovation to join their team and drive the firm's strategic initiatives.

Position Overview:

The Director of Knowledge & Practice Innovation will be responsible for leading and developing innovative knowledge management strategies and practices across the firm. This role involves collaborating with legal professionals, IT, and other departments to enhance the firm's knowledge sharing, legal technology adoption, and practice efficiency. The position offers a hybrid working model, providing flexibility and promoting a balanced work environment.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement a comprehensive knowledge management strategy aligned with the firm's goals.

Lead initiatives to enhance the firm's use of legal technology, including AI and other advanced tools.

Promote best practices in knowledge sharing and collaboration across various practice groups.

Oversee the creation, management, and dissemination of legal content and resources.

Collaborate with partners and practice leaders to identify opportunities for innovation and process improvement.

Manage a team of knowledge management professionals, providing guidance and fostering professional growth.

Monitor industry trends and advancements in legal technology to ensure the firm remains at the forefront of innovation.

Facilitate training and development programmes to enhance the firm's knowledge capabilities.

Work with IT to ensure the seamless integration and functionality of knowledge management systems.

Drive the firm's thought leadership initiatives, including publications, seminars, and client alerts.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree is required. An advanced degree in a relevant field (MLIS, MBA, JD) is preferred.

8-10+ years of explicit knowledge management, operations management, process improvement, marketing operations, legal practice, or legal operations experience in a law firm or corporate setting required.

Proven track record of leading and implementing innovative strategies and initiatives.

Strong understanding of legal technology, including AI, document management systems, and collaboration tools.

Excellent leadership and team management skills.

Superior communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.

Highly organised with strong project management abilities.

Ability to work effectively in a hybrid working environment.

A forward-thinking mindset with a passion for driving change and improvement.

Relevant degree or equivalent experience in law, information management, or a related discipline.
