We Are TMA. Job Overview:

TMA is seeking an experienced music licensing executive to join a unique group of individuals in supporting our client's marketing efforts to bring their music creative visions to life in our offices in NYC or LA (Hybrid)

As the Director of C&I, you will play an active role in supporting external clients and internal creative account teams as a music expert when the need for music licensing & supervision arises.

You love going to concerts and consider yourself a tastemaker and know who the next "big thing" in music will be.

Responsibilities: MUSIC SUPERVISION - you will have a direct role in supporting brand clients and creative partners in selecting music for brand campaigns.

You have a deep passion and knowledge of music from all decades/genres (including new artists/songs to catalog music).
You can easily match songs to a creative brief and/or find replacement tracks if necessary.
Experience using Disco / know of other effective music storage systems to build playlists, send audio files to clients to listen to tracks against picture.
You're familiar with music audio elements and its verbiage (e.g.
instrumentals, stems, full mixes, tagging songs, etc.)
MUSIC LICENSING - you are responsible for supporting our brand clients in securing rights to use famous (and indie) songs for all-media advertising campaigns.
You have knowledge of general market rates of licensing fees for advertising with different caliber of artists and songs.
You understand the stages of obtaining clearance for a song and well versed with each part, (i.e.
ballparks, approvals, offers, contracts).
You have a general understanding of how union residuals plays into clearances and costs for a client, (such as SAG/AFTRA, AFM) and other out-of-pocket costs.
Drafting deal memos or firm offers Drafting and reviewing music licensing agreements, understands broad-strokes music legalese.
You are comfortable giving detailed feedback (even if not positive) and providing counsel to brand clients when they are need direction and support.
You will work with shared resources internally to support all billing needs (POs, invoices).
Qualifications: 6-8+ years of music marketing experience, with a specialty in music licensing and supervision in the advertising space and/or music brand partnerships Proven track record of closing music licensing deals successfully/in client budgets with limited supervision Experience working with advertising industry executives (account, music producers, creative directors, business affairs and/or brand marking executives) Strong relationships with music rights holders globally (labels, publishers, managers, lawyers, music houses, etc.)
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills Strong analytical skills and experience leveraging data to drive decision making Excellent time management skills, attention to detail and planning/prioritization Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work on multiple projects at once.

The range below represents the typical base salary someone in this role may earn as an employee of TMA in the United States.
Salaries will vary based on multiple factors including but not limited to professional and academic experience, certifications, associated responsibilities, location, and other business/organizational needs.
The range listed is just one component of our total compensation package for employees.
Salary decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each hire.
