Job Description:Director, Network Engineering - Proxy and Application Gateway The Role:Fidelity's Enterprise Infrastructure Global Network Team is adding a director level individual contributor to the Network Proxy Engineering (NPE) team. We are a dynamic group of experts looking to demonstrate emerging technologies to rapidly improve the ability of Fidelity's Business Units.We are looking for a standout colleague who excels in a dynamic, fast paced work environment. You will also administer and design highly complex Proxy environments for the security of Fidelity's critical resources. You will have the opportunity to use all your skills and continue to grow them as Fidelity has a phenomenal learning culture.In this role you will be:Participating in complex and creative multi-functional assignments and multiple phases of a projectAdhering to departmental technical policies and proceduresWorking independently or leading team complex technology projectsManaging and crafting highly complex secure connectivity solutions for security of Fidelity's critical resources and enablement of revenue producing servicesProactively developing and sharing your knowledge while developing others modeling a culture of continuous learning, mentoring, and coaching.Liaising with vendors to address hardware and software issuesProviding support for all Enterprise Proxy environmentEffectively managing and participating on projects that involve other groupsPreparing technical and project proposals for management review and approvalParticipating on multi-functional crisis resolution teams as requiredProviding research and analysis to support business unit project initiativesPerforming on-call (7 x 24) coverage on a rotational basis with other Proxy EngineersThe Expertise and Skills You Bring5+ years of experience working directly in proxy and network security space10+ years of experience working directly in network engineering environmentCloud proxy knowledge and experienceZscaler, ZIA and ZDX preferredAbility to design the following types of Proxy servers: explicit HTTP, reverse HTTP, and SOCKSSymantec Blue Coat, and NGINX preferredSolid understanding of IP, and TCPExpertise in TLS, and HTTPSolid understanding of network security best practicesExperience with PAC File functions and creationIntermediate JavaScript programmingUnderstanding of PAC file interactions with common browser behaviorExperience with SSL Interception on web sessions for ICAP/DLP inspectionKnowledge of Agile best practices and familiar with JiraTrouble shoot issues related to the Network or Proxy environmentsMember of 3rd level engineering escalation, participate in and on-call rotationManagement of life cycle for various technologies within the space (includes vendor management)Engineering customer connectivity / onboarding based on requirementsConsulting with customers on best practices and optionsBusiness to Customer as well as Business to Business connectivityDocumentation of complex technologies and topologies based on security standard methodologiesGood interpersonal skills, ability to speak with customers of all technical levelsExperience leading technical teamsAn ability to lead change in a creative and collaborative manner with business and technical partners.Infrastructure software development and automation skillsThe TeamAs an individual contributor on the NPE team, you will be a member of the team and will engage in multiple proxy related projects, collaborate with Fidelity Application Architecture (FAA) team on future technologies, also providing 3rd line operational support and problem resolution.
