About the roleThe Director of Camp Advancement is responsible for creating and overseeing a revenue-generating facility rental strategic plan for three Girl Scout camp facilities located on O'ahu, Maui, and Hawai'i Island.
What you'll doDevelop and implement revenue-generating models for the utilization of our camp facilities.Work with the MAPS team to maximize and balance Girl Scout and non-Girl Scout camp usage.Determine, follow, and be held accountable for an effective data-driven strategy, budget, and goals for revenue-generating camp facility use. This includes generating a minimum of $100,000 in net revenue in the first year from camps Pamalu and Kilohana only, and a minimum of $300,000 in net revenue from year two onwards.Secure, oversee, and ensure compliance with vendor contracts as needed.Establish a system for evaluation, periodic reporting, and assessment of facility use impact and customer satisfaction, utilizing customer feedback to improve the camp experience.Manage the implementation of grants that fund new and/or improved camp experiences.Provide recommendations for internal and external developments and partnerships to enhance the camp experience.Assess risks inherent in camp operations and provide risk mitigation recommendations to the COO.Ensure compliance with all licensure and regulatory requirements for camp facility use in collaboration with the COO.Identify target markets to pitch the camp experience to, and create and distribute promotional camp experience media and collateral to them.Identify and utilize an online rental platform similar to Airbnb in experience for the user.Correspond with facility property managers to ensure the facility is prepared for rental groups.Communicate with rental groups to ensure a positive rental experience.Determine market pricing for camp experience rentals, considering categorical use (Girl Scout members, non-Girl Scout members, corporate events, weddings, etc.).Work with MAPS to secure American Camping Association accreditation.QualificationsBachelor's degree or higher and 5 years of experience in a related field.Experience working with non-profit organizations, particularly in a camp or recreational setting is highly desirable.Proven track record in revenue generation and budget management.Strong leadership and organizational skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to develop and implement strategic plans.Ability to assess what is necessary for a successful platform.Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.Understanding of risk management and mitigation strategies.Knowledge of marketing strategies and target market identification.Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.Capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.Ability to analyze data and use insights to drive decisions and/or improvements.Subscribe to the principles of the Girl Scout Movement and become a registered member of GSUSA.All employees of the Girl Scouts of Hawai'i must possess a positive attitude with strong work ethic, integrity and honesty and are expected to be flexible, adaptable and thrive in an ever-changing/fast-paced environment.Develop and maintain sensitivity to employee diversity in the workplace.Behave in ways that demonstrate respectful treatment of other employees, volunteers, and girls.Practice pluralism and be inclusive with the services provided.Proactively contribute to the success of work teams by sharing relevant information, encouraging open dialogue, respecting other team members, supporting collaboration, encouraging ongoing self-assessment and supporting new ideas and ways for achieving the goals and objectives for realignment.
