Title:
Director of Children's Ministry
Position:
This is a part-time (15-20 hours a week) staff position that serves as the Director of
Children's Ministry for Salisbury Presbyterian Church.
Purpose:
To support the mission of Salisbury Presbyterian Church by providing a loving,
supervised, Christian environment for primarily children's, and secondarily youth's, Christian
Education curriculum and activities.
Qualifications:
Coordinate and lead well-established programs for children from birth through 5th grade, serving as a touch point for children, parents, staff, and members. Also assisting in the youth ministry program when called upon.
Core Responsibilities:*
General
Be present on Sunday mornings
Attend monthly Christian Education & Discipleship (CE&D) team meetings
Coordinate scheduling of nursery staffing for Sunday morning
Coordinate staffing of Kidzone for the 11:00 worship service
Discipleship
Assist CE&D Team in development and dissemination of Preschool-5th grade Sunday
Discipleship curriculum
Facilitate Sunday Discipleship teacher recruitment and training
Assist with Children's Message or other Sunday worship responsibilities as needed
Provide special age-appropriate materials for children to teach them about Advent,
Lent, etc.
Special Programs
Plan and lead a youth group(s) for elementary aged children, (grades K-5) in
collaboration with parents and volunteers
Support and assist Vacation Bible School coordinator
Communication Skills
Collaborate well with coworkers to combine talents to get the job done and achieve the
highest quality outcome
Understand the needs of the congregation and provide effective solutions and
opportunities
Communicate effectively with coworkers, church members and visitors
Organizational Skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and programs
Ability to plan and coordinate job duties/assignments in order to be completed in a
productive and timely manner; effectively use SPC resources, such as equipment and
tools needed for the job.
Appropriate time management for tasks

Can be relied upon to complete responsibilities
Is flexible
Works independently to handle own responsibilities
Has good attendance and is on time with commitments
