Reports to the Chief People Officer. Responsible for leading the company's Internal Communications strategy and organizational change management (OCM) capability, and overseeing a team of communications professionals. Leads the execution of OCM for enterprise-wide initiatives in support of employees including impact assessment, stakeholder analysis and management, and risk and resistance management. As a member of the functional People Team, collaborates closely with Human Resources and Learning & Development to develop and support projects, initiatives and engagement opportunities. This position is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the company's employment brand while also reflecting the organization's vision, mission and values in regular communications. Manages internal communication content across multiple channels and is the owner of the company's intranet site and administration.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree and minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in internal communications or a combination of internal communications, corporate communications, and/or marketing communications.Change management certification a plus. Familiarity with the Prosci change management methodology preferred.Demonstrated ability to collaborate with business leaders to develop and implement communications solutions that support the achievement of business goals.Proven ability to recognize and translate evolving business objectives into OCM program strategy. Successfully prepared and executed OCM plans resulting in engagement and understanding across multiple levels of an organization.Experience writing for senior management to an internal audience.Proven relationship management skills, including the ability to relate to all levels of the organization to build credibility and generate buy-in to change.Experience designing intranet layouts, graphics and other types of employee communications across multiple mediums.Demonstrated experience using independent judgment and discretion in complex situations while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality.Proven ability to organize departmental work, balance multiple priorities and manage a variety of projects in a high volume work environment with strong attention to detail.Possess excellent written communication and presentation skills and the proven ability to work across various departments and levels in an organization.Must have a thorough understanding of company policies and procedures as they relate to the position. Must understand and comply with all job related state and federal laws and regulations.PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: Works with the Chief People Officer to manage and execute an internal communications strategy based upon the company's goals, values and commitment to success. Assists senior leaders with written and spoken content and prepares messages and presentations.Aligns the Internal Communications departmental structure and practice with the organization's growth strategy and plans. Develops the team through hiring, training, performance, and coaching.Leads the execution of the company's OCM methodology. Partners closely with Learning & Development to deliver customized OCM plans to support successful project outcomes.With the employment brand and company's vision, mission and values in mind, manages the team in creating and developing communications plans for all employee focused projects, events, announcements, initiatives and daily news stories.Builds a culture of belonging, respect and inclusiveness through the creation of content and promotion of employee events focusing on understanding and engagement.Serves as a leader on the People Team (HR, L&D and Internal Comms) and as a member of the company's Senior Leadership Team.Owns the company's intranet site and administration. Manages the creation of intranet content, the usage of new technologies to meet business needs, and the accountability of content ownership.Develops and maintains crisis communications plans and templates for internal updates that are composed and meaningful.Partners closely with Community Events, Social Media and Public Relations team members to promote community involvement activities, collaborate on the external usage of the employment brand and to keep employees informed related to external events that may impact them.Strategizes creative ways to communicate with employees using a variety of communications channels including email, intranet, video and print.Sets and manages the team's adherence to communications deadlines, project deliverables and balancing the scheduling of multiple internal communications.Designs and maintains all employee-facing onboarding and orientation materials. Participates in ongoing People Team projects to maximize employee engagement and interest.Manages third parties including reviewing contracts, SOWs, and holding vendors accountable to SLAs.Performs other duties as assigned.
