The Association of California Water Agencies Joint Powers Insurance Authority – ACWA JPIA for short – is a partnership of water agencies dedicated to avoiding the high cost of commercial insurance. Formed in 1979, JPIA is not an insurance agency or carrier. It is a risk-sharing pool for property, liability, workers' compensation and employee benefits, which allows for more rate stability, broader coverage and expanded benefits and services than private insurance. Our offerings are unique to the water industry; member agencies themselves – their directors and managers – have selected and refined the various programs. Only agencies that demonstrate a commitment to effective risk management programs are accepted into JPIA.
Are you a dynamic communicator with a passion for member engagement and a commitment to excellence? ACWA JPIA is seeking a Director of Member Outreach to join our innovative team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a strategic professional dedicated to enhancing member relations and driving community engagement within a public-service focused organization. The salary range for the position is $180,596 - $270,893. To determine approximate total compensation, add an additional 38% to the salary. This more accurately represents the total benefits received as an employee, such as medical, dental, vision, and EAP. ACWA JPIA is a covered CalPERS employer for pension.
Responsibilities: Planning, organizing, coordinating, directing, and supervising the Training and Risk Management Departments.Ensuring effective communication and engagement with members.Assisting CEO with strategic decision making.This position is located in Roseville, CA, and is full time, 40 hours per week, with hours from 7:30am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday, though there is flexibility. Remote work up to two days per week.
Job Requirements: Any combination of education, training and experience which would demonstrate the ability to successfully perform these functions, duties and responsibilities would be qualifying. A typical way to demonstrate the necessary qualifications would be: Education: A bachelor's degree or master's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, employee development, risk management, or closely related field. Experience: Ten years of increasingly responsible experience managing and coordinating work from a variety of departments, preferably training and development or risk management departments, bringing together diverse areas of expertise to operate in a united way, reaching out to members or constituents to educate on products and services.
