*Overview:*Stoddard Baptist Nursing Home seeks a Director of Nursing to oversee the delivery of high-quality care for our residents and drive quality improvement initiatives to ensure we promote a positive image throughout the facility, implement and monitor clinical operational systems, and analyze clinical data. This position is primarily responsible for directing the overall operations of the Nursing Department per current state and federal regulations. Additional duties include overseeing the scheduling of staff, budget, Staff Development, and supervisory roles. In this role, you will develop and lead a team of Licensed Nursing staff and provide clinical supervision. Under your leadership, the team will work together to implement comprehensive resident care plans that meet the high standards of nursing practice and comply with appropriate regulations as directed by the Administrator and Medical Director. You will provide nursing assessments and care oversight, identify clinical trends, implement corrective action, and monitor the accurate delivery of medications to our residents, in addition to working with the residents' physicians and medical personnel on the best plan of action for their continued care.*Responsibilities:** Ensure there are systems in place to facilitate the effective and efficient day-to-day operation of the Department of Nursing* Responsible for utilizing the performance improvement process to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the Nursing Department* Monitor clinical data to ensure the facility is meeting the clinical needs of each resident and the clinical goals of the facility* Initiate appropriate and timely problem identification and problem-solving in response to changes in clinical data* Routinely monitors census, resident acuity, and staffing levels to ensure effective and efficient staffing patterns are in place* In the absence of the Administrator is responsible for oversight of the facility operations* Ensure there are systems in place to facilitate timely and effective clinical decision-making regarding the admission of new residents to the facility* Participate in the monitoring of patient referrals and actual admissions identifying potential barriers to admissions and recommending solutions to accommodate additional types of patients*Job Requirements:*Registered Nurse, with a minimum of three (3) to six (6) years of long-term care nursing experience required, MSN preferred. The incumbent should be able to analyze information received and lead staff to achieve positive outcomes for residents, possess high-quality verbal and written communication ability, strong interpersonal and leadership skills, and be knowledgeable of nursing principles and state and federal health regulations. Must be proficient in the operation of computer applications.
