Job Summary

HarperDB is seeking a Director of Product Management to join our growing team. This role is a blend of product management, product marketing and product management, acting as the vital link between our engineering, marketing, and product teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in product development and management, with the ability to manage complex projects, groom backlogs, and facilitate knowledge transfer across departments.

Responsibilities

Act as the "glue" between engineering, marketing, and product teams, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
Work closely with senior leaders to align product strategies with company goals.
Develop and manage product roadmaps, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Define product requirements, features, and specifications.
Experience with product packing and pricing
Coordinate with engineering, marketing, and other departments to ensure timely and successful product releases.
Manage release schedules, ensuring all teams are aligned and deadlines are met.
Oversee the grooming of the product backlog, prioritizing features and bug fixes based on business and customer needs.
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for product features, user guides, and technical specifications.
Facilitate knowledge transfer to the marketing team, ensuring they have the information needed to effectively promote new releases.
Serve as a liaison between the product team and customers, gathering feedback and providing updates.
Assist with pricing strategies and packaging options that align with market demands and company objectives.
Conduct market research to stay informed on industry trends and competitor offerings.

Qualifications

Hands on experience in the application and software infrastructure space
Knowledge of database, apis, and distributed systems
Proven experience in product marketing, product management, project management, or a similar role.
Strong technical writing skills, with the ability to create clear and concise documentation.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira or Asana.

Bonus Qualifications

Prior experience with HarperDB or similar distributed database solutions.
Experience in developing pricing strategies and packaging for technology products.
Project or program management certification (PMP, ScrumMaster, etc.).
