We're seeking a future team member for the role of Director, Office of Regulatory Relations- Relationship Manager.This role is located in New York - Hybrid 3 days in-office.The Office of Regulatory Relations is responsible for developing and coordinating the company-wide strategy and approach to major regulatory supervisory matters. The function centrally manages BNY relationships and interactions with supervisory regulators, partnering with all business and functions across the company.
In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
Leads and manages all risk and compliance interactions with prudential regulatory agencies, acting as the central point of contact for regulators and BNY executives.
Provides direction and drives change to support the firm's regulatory strategy.
Oversees regulatory engagements and exams, coordinating with peers and partners across BNY
Cultivates collaborative relationships with internal leaders and regulatory supervisors.
Offers technical guidance, proactively identifies obstacles, and recommends solutions.
Exemplifies and promotes the firm's values, including diversity, teamwork, client focus, integrity, and excellence.
Reports and escalates progress/issues to management, as needed
Prepares/trains employees for effective regulatory interaction
Drives implementation of best practices
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of work experience required
10+ years of work experience
Excellent organizational and communications (written and verbal) skills
Experience in the financial services industry; working in a risk or compliance function desirable
Previous experience interacting with financial regulatory agencies preferred
Executive presence and grace under pressure
Proven ability to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously and within tight deadlines

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $150,000 and $250,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and company- sponsored benefit programs.
