Job Summary:
The Community UtilityAssociate performs a variety of food service functions in maintaining clean andsanitary conditions of Community food services, facilities, and equipment.He/she is responsible for washing dishes, washing pots and pans , general and equipmentcleaning, storage and rotation of food and supplies as well as the removal of all garbage; leaving machinery empty, clean, and dry;and keeping floors clean after each meal.
Responsibilities: Follows the posted work schedule andarrives on time and in appropriate work attireResponsible for the proper washing ofchina, flatware, glassware, and other kitchen equipment including machine rinsepressure and water temperatureResponsible for maintaining thekitchen and other assigned areas in a sanitary conditionEstablishes and maintainsconstructive working relationships with other kitchen personnel and residentsMust be familiar with food-handlingprocedures and regulationsMust know how to operate kitchenappliances such as garbage disposal, microwave, coffee maker, and ice machineMay be required to help with foodpreparation, inventory, and maintenance as well as food deliveries and stockingshelvesFollow all emergency proceduresUnderstands all safety practices andproceduresReports on-the-job injuries to theCommunity Cook and/or Food & Beverage Director before the end of the workshift on the day the injury occursCommunicates effectively with Food& Beverage Director and other staffAdvises Food & Beverage Directorof any changes in physical or mental health of a resident immediately Maintains an acceptable attendance record, notifies Food & Beverage Director if he/she expects to be late or unable to work in accordance with personnel policies, and follows work schedule Qualifications: HighSchool diploma preferred/ GED acceptedSome kitchen experience is desirableBasic knife skills requiredAbilityto handle multiple prioritiesMusthave organizational and time management skills Demonstrates good judgment, problem solving and decision-making skillsPhysically able to bend and reachPhysically able to push and pull andlift up to 40-50 pounds if necessaryPhysically able to standfor extended periods of time Miscellaneous May be required to work weekends and holidays as assignedMay be required to work on shifts other than the one for which hiredMay be required to work extended hours (up to 16 hours per day)May be subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including HIV, AIDS, and Hepatitis B and C virusesCould be subject to hostile and emotionally upset Residents due to mental statusMust be in good physical and emotional health and free of communicable diseasesBackground, criminal, and drug tests may be requiredMay be asked to submit to random drug test during employmentMay have their picture taken and image used in social media or community advertisingMay be video recorded from devices installed by families in residents' apartments
