Our client is one of the largest Buffalo, Western New York cannabis companies that has seen exceptional growth and needs a Dry Room Manager. Position Overview: As a Dry/Cure Manager reporting to the Director of Cultivation, you will play a key leadership role in overseeing the drying and curing processes critical to our client's products' quality and consistency. This is a managerial position that combines leading by example, technical expertise, and a solutions-oriented mindset. You will supervise and mentor a high-performing team, ensuring operational efficiency, product quality, and process improvements at every stage of the dry/cure process. Your attention to detail, proactive problem-solving abilities, and ability to drive results will directly impact the success of the production team and the company's overall goals. Core Responsibilities: Lead & Supervise the Dry/Cure Team: Directly manage the day-to-day activities of the Dry/Cure team, ensuring that all processes are executed efficiently and to the highest standards of quality. Optimize Operations: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the department to ensure continuous improvements in efficiency, productivity, and product quality. Strategic Scheduling & Resource Management: Ensure seamless dry/cure process integration with upstream and downstream production activities. Prioritize and manage workflows based on harvest dates and product freshness, minimizing waste and maximizing product throughput. Process Adaptation & Quality Control: Adapt drying and curing processes to accommodate a variety of cannabis strains, styles, and product types, making real-time adjustments to maintain consistent quality. Employee Development: Lead, train, and motivate your team to achieve departmental KPIs, fostering a culture of collaboration, efficiency, and accountability across all team members. Product Quality Assurance: Continuously monitor and improve product quality throughout the drying and curing stages, ensuring that final products meet or exceed industry standards. Documentation & Compliance: Oversee accurate record-keeping within the seed-to-sale software system and associated logs, ensuring compliance with all company and regulatory requirements. Environmental Management: Maintain optimal environmental conditions within dry, cure, and trim rooms, adjusting as necessary to meet product-specific needs. Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure smooth workflow and product handoff. Recruitment & Performance Management: Support the hiring, training, and performance management of team members. Participate in employee evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary actions when necessary. Inventory & Compliance: Oversee inventory management and ensure accurate tracking of all materials and products through the curing process. Key Skills & Requirements: Leadership Experience: Proven ability to lead, coach, and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment. Previous supervisory experience is highly preferred. Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of the drying and curing process in cannabis production, with a focus on product quality and process efficiency. Problem-Solving: Strong technical thinker with the ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions to maintain optimal production output. Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document procedures, prepare reports, and communicate with other departments. Attention to Detail: A detail-oriented mindset with a focus on precision in documentation, environmental monitoring, and product handling. Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with Microsoft Office and seed-to-sale software platforms (e.g., Ample), with experience in employee timekeeping and scheduling systems. Compliance-Focused: Must remain compliant with all legal and company regulations for working in the cannabis industry. Physical Stamina: Ability to perform light to moderately heavy physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing or walking for extended periods. Flexible Schedule: Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays during peak production periods. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in cannabis production or a similar field Strong understanding of environmental control systems and best practices for drying, curing, and storage Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
