VISION FOR POSITION The Educational Assistant is a committed member of a school team closing the opportunity gap. The Educational Assistant serves as academic or behavioral support to a student or a small group of students in the classroom. In addition, the Educational Assistant creates an inclusive and welcoming environment for our parents and scholars. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES Implement instructional resources for a small group of children in the classroomCreate a positive educational climate for studentsParticipate in ongoing professional development and coachingModify lessons during the course of the school year to meet student needsUtilize curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students servedFollow the school-wide behavior systemEstablish and maintain strong relationships with all childrenMaintain communication with students' parents or guardiansSupport accommodations during school-wide assessments SKILLS Demonstrated knowledge and ability to work effectively and relate comfortably with children and their familiesAbility to work independently and as a team memberCommitment to Prodeo Academy's mission EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Associate Degree or a passing score on the paraprofessional assessment.Experience working with childrenStrong planning and time management skills COMPENSATION Salary for this position is very competitive and commensurate with experience.
