JOB SUMMARY

The Riverside Transit Agency is recruiting for the position of Electronic Technician in our Maintenance Department.
The Electronic Technicians duties will include troubleshooting and repair of the electronic revenue collection system.


Please be advised that this may involve assignment at either our Riverside or Hemet locations.
Applicants must be available to work 7 days per week, including holidays and all shifts
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential job duties include but not limited to: Repair and troubleshoot fareboxes, receiver vaults, the information retrieval system, money counting equipment, vehicle ITS, engine and transmission electrical components, and bus electrical and communication systems.
Perform repair and maintenance on the destination sign system, electrical components on all agency vehicles and equipment, and various other electronic systems like; Genfare Fast Fare Farebox, Luminator Surveillance Systems, Luminator Headsigns, Cradle Point Routers, Engine Control Modules - Cummins, Transmission Control Modules - Allison, I/O controls - Dinex, Amerex and more.
Operate Agency vehicles as necessary (non-revenue service) Makes road calls as needed Maintains proper maintenance and inventory records Performs related tasks as required QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Graduation from high school or its equivalent with at least three (3) year's experience (4 years preferred) in electrical field.
Knowledge of electrical testing equipment, ladder and electrical schematics, computer operations, ability to repair and create electrical connections, and the ability to repair printed circuit boards.


OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Must possess a valid non-restricted California driver's license and be able to obtain a Class B license and medical certificate within ninety (90) days of employment.


A drivers' history printout (issued not more than 30 days prior to date of application) must be provided with the application.
You must obtain the official driving history from the DMV. The driving history must be clear of suspensions for any reason within the past five (5) years and have no more than three (3) points within the past five (5) years, and no two (2) point violations.

No accidents which applicant contributed to cause within 3 years from your application date.

Preventable Accidents - only 1 written warning within the last year.
Performance Appraisal ratings must be at or above "Meets Standards."
Applications to transfer to a different department, will be accepted once the 120 day probationary period has been successfully completed.

Written Exam A performance exam (pass/fail).
Oral interview examination (100% weight).
