The Emergency Department Hospitality Partner serves as a representative of Hackensack Meridian Health Patient Experience, Food & Nutrition, and Environmental Service departments inside the hospital's Emergency Department. The primary focus of the ED Partner is to be the key liaison of support services within the Emergency Department. He/she is responsible for maintaining a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment in the ED waiting areas, public restrooms, and Admit Pending Units. In addition, he/she is responsible for monitoring and serving meals provided to patients in the Emergency Department. To ensure patient satisfaction, he/she will also interview/round on patients to discuss these key service lines. The ED Partner will greet customers upon entry, consistently police areas inside the ED, tidy/sanitize areas after visitors' departure, declutter hallways and patient areas, monitor supply levels and pantry stock, and restock or replenish as needed. This position has a strong focus on customer service and communication skills, and requires a demonstration of professionalism and empathy in a sensitive environment. The ED Hospitality Partner must develop and maintain close relationships with clinical staff and Nursing Operations Manager within the Emergency Department.
Responsibilities Environmental Services (25%)
Responds to calls for housekeeping problems such as spills and specific departmental needs. Maintaining stock of paper and cleaning supplies. Policing public restrooms, stocking toilet paper and paper towels as needed. Provide communication between clinical staff and Environmental Services. Food & Nutrition (25%)
Provide communication between clinical staff and Food & Nutrition, specifically with monitoring patient diet orders. Police pantries and restock pantry items as needed. Patient Dining Associate Patient Partner (25%)
Provides quality customer service to customers by providing one-on-one attention to detail. Proactively round on patients to explain patient diets. Handle immediate service recoveries and triage concerns to appropriate departments/clinical partners. Prioritize patients with extensive hold times to ensure they are as comfortable as possible. Other (25%)
Assist in decluttering the Emergency Department by removing stretchers in hallways, removing equipment from hallways or patient areas. Build and maintain relationships with support services and clinical team members to ensure patients have a seamless experience in the Emergency Department. Other duties and/or projects as assigned. Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior. Qualifications Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs or equivalent experience.
