LCRA is seeking to find an Environmental Coordinator to join our team! As part of the Environmental Permitting and Compliance team, you will lead U.S. Army Corps of Engineers permitting, Endangered Species Act compliance, and storm water permitting efforts for LCRA water supply infrastructure projects. This role effectively communicates compliance requirements to LCRA project engineers, operations, and outside contractors. The successful candidate will develop applications for environmental permitting, regulatory filings, and environmental plans and procedures. The successful candidate is an analytical thinker and flexible problem solver with the ability to balance competing demands, attention to detail, and build consensus. The Environmental Coordinator II applies independent judgment and discretion when tackling complex situations in order to deliver solutions that are compliant and customer-focused, and will strive for excellence in all areas of your work while exemplifying LCRA's values of focusing on service, taking initiative, showing respect, operating with integrity, and focusing on safety.
You will be trusted to:
- Manage environmental permitting and compliance for complex water resource construction and maintenance projects throughout Texas both directly and by managing outside consultants. This will include ensuring compliance with U.S. Army Corps of Engineering regulations, state water quality rules, endangered species requirements, local municipal and county regulations, and other resource planning and permitting requirements relevant in Texas.
- Serve as an environmental resource for LCRA staff. Interpret regulatory requirements, develop and implement procedures and manage impacts to operations.
- Communicate with regulatory agencies and local governments as necessary and participate in external professional associations.
- Participate in the research, development and implementation of environmental policies and procedures to accommodate new or changed environmental regulations and/or LCRA operations.
- Perform complex site assessments, including evaluations of permitting and compliance implications for water resource development or infrastructure projects, and environmental impact and risk assessments of current and proposed facility operations.

You qualify with:
- Six or more years of experience in assessment, interpretation, implementation or administration of environmental regulations, programs, policies or other relevant experience, including experience with preparing technical reports and communicating with regulatory agencies.
- A degree(s) in environmental science, chemistry, wildlife biology, geology, ecological management, conservation science, business, engineering, risk management or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
- Driver's license
