Dean of Students staff serve students through programs, events, resources, and services built around student support, student involvement, and student conduct. Our services also include Student Governance Organizations. Dean of Students is one of eight departments in the Division of Student Affairs.
Purpose:

Oversees the student conduct adjudication process under the supervision of the Dean of Students, including high profile, complex and urgent cases. Responsible for the administration of policies, procedures, and prevention efforts for student conduct. The position engages in campus outreach, collaboration and provides training to students, faculty and staff.
Responsibilities:
Primarily responsible for the development, interpretation, and implementation of policy and procedure related to student conduct, including overseeing case intake, management, and workflow. Responsible for the administration of the student conduct process for academic, non-academic, and student organization matters, including the investigation and resolution of complaints.
As a part of the dean of students lead team, works to fulfill the mission and vision of the Office of the Dean of Students. Provides strategic leadership and vision for the Student Conduct and Academic Integrity unit, including managing the unit budget and supervising a team comprised of 8 full time staff and multiple graduate students. Responsible for future recruitment and training of staff members as appropriate.
Provides timely updates to the Dean of Students via regular engagement in strategic problem solving, case consultation, and high impact cases.
Meets with students, faculty, legal affairs, Office of the President, community members and others, as appropriate, for consultation, education, and problem solving. Serves as a resource on student conduct matters both at the institution and nationally.
Oversees and sustains the quality of outreach and marketing initiatives including matters ranging from annual reports, assessment plans, website content, publications and launching new initiatives.
Provides primary leadership on technology and communication-based initiatives for Student Conduct and Academic Integrity unit including database customization, software and communication efforts.
Assists or leads special assignments within the University, Office of the Dean of Students and the Division of Student Affairs, including committee appointments.
Required Qualifications:
Communication-listening focus; ability to acquire information/ideas from others; collaborative, shares resources based on business needs with other functional managers; factor functional concerns/needs into strategy; incorporate long term strategic direction/goals into business model; delegates responsibility for overseeing functional tasks to direct reports and engages others in learning. Experience addressing student organization misconduct including but not limited to the development of both proactive and reactive resources and interventions geared at influencing student organization behavior. Master's degree in student affairs administration, educational policy, law or related field and ten years of experience in student conduct or higher education administration, academic discipline, residence life conduct management or other community agency relating to student development.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications:
Terminal degree in student affairs administration, educational policy, law or related field and eight years of experience in student conduct or higher education administration, academic discipline, residence life conduct management or other community agency relating to student development.
Salary:
$130,000+ depending on qualifications
