Expanded Learning Assistant - Aftercare Reports To: Aftercare Coordinator/ Director FLSA Classification: Hourly Classified Full Time/Part Time Status: Part-Time, non-exempt Regular Framework: Hourly Pay Range: $18.75-$22.86 Step 1 Framework Benefits: This position does not qualify for benefits Summary The after-school program is an important element of the school day experience. Our Expanded Learning Assistants play unique roles as mentors, tutors, activity leaders, and sports coaches. In addition to providing a safe and quiet place for students to study or receive extra tutoring, our program also offers enrichment opportunities during our regularly school year afterschool programming.
This position is in-person and on-campus. Key Responsibilities: Supervise school-aged children indoors and outdoors Maintain an orderly, safe, and organized environment for the students Take attendance to ensure that all students are accounted for Plan, develop and run engaging student activities Assist students with virtual learning activities and homework assignments Understand and implement emergency procedures, including safety protocols Perform related duties as assigned Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred Experience working with students Ability to work well with school-aged students Comfortable leading enrichment activities with students Inform and communicate effectively Ability to work with diverse populations Clearances: Tuberculosis Clearance and Department of Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance Working Conditions: Environment: Indoor and outdoor setting
Physical Abilities: Sitting or standing for extended periods of time Hearing and speaking to communicate and exchange information Seeing to observe accuracy of reports and documents Dexterity of hand and finger to operate office equipment Bending at the waist, kneeling, and reaching overhead, above shoulders and horizontally to retrieve and store files and other items as needed.
