Description SAIC is seeking a Junior Financial Specialist/Analyst to provide financial support in areas of budget formulation and financial execution for Navy Support Equipment programs. The selected candidate will be responsible for working hand in hand with our government point of contact, other contractors, and military personnel as required. Candidate will assist experienced analysts with the planning, monitoring, and control of the operation of financial management systems and automated tools supporting accounting, reporting, and management information.
This position will be hybrid-remote with a minimum of onsite support 2 days per week in Lakehurst, NJ. Local candidates to the area are encouraged to apply! A Secret clearance will be required to start work.
Tasking: Perform basic activities in support of program functions such as budgeting, auditing, forecasting funding expenditures. Collect and review program financial data from various databases and other sources. Create, maintain, and update program databases and spreadsheets, and generate various reports as required. Perform basic financial analysis of program areas as assigned. Prepare reports and presentation material to defend budget estimates to leadership. Maintain appropriate records and documentation. Support assigned managers in managing, tracking, monitoring, and reporting financial data as required. Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures as well as DAR, FAR, and other Department of the Navy (DON) government policies and regulations. May act as program coordinator following up on pending details and coordinating program meetings. May participate in special assignments/projects such as preparing reports for briefing, developing and presenting reports of accomplishments and results of assignments. Assist with formulating budget/estimates to support plans, programs, and activities. Qualifications Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, or related field with 3 years of financial analysis experience (Department of Defense project support preferred) or Master's Degree in Finance, Business, or related field with 1 year of financial analysis experience (Department of Defense project support preferred). Candidate must have an active DoD Secret Clearance or be able to pass a background investigation to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance. U.S. Citizenship required. Excel in the area of macros, pivot tables, advanced filtering, etc. to assist in creating graphics and charts for inclusion in presentations to leadership. Desired Experience: Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) experience a plus. Knowledge of the Navy mission, policies, and guidance; interpreting and developing detailed financial reports a plus.
