We're seeking a Financial Intake Specialist to evaluate, advise, and counsel on the financial aid process, eligibility, and awarding in a high-volume setting.
The Financial Intake Specialist assists with the completion of necessary financial aid documents to ensure students are eligible for their financial aid certification.


The target salary for this position is $52,000.


Essential Duties:
Conducts proactive outreach to assigned student population to collect necessary financial documentation.
Provides comprehensive counseling to students regarding their financial aid eligibility through phone, SMS, Zoom, chat, and email.
Handles inbound concerns from students and family members to ensure all paperwork is in place for financial aid certification.
Participates in presentations and information sessions to advise prospective students and their families.
Reviews awards to ensure compliance to government rules and regulations looking for over-awards as well as under-awards.
Assumes or coordinates other duties or projects as assigned or directed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, Humanities or related field and four years experience in student counseling, financial aid awarding or working with financial aid programs; OR, eight years of directly related experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.


Desired Qualifications: Evidence of a bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
Demonstrated knowledge of automated processing.
Demonstrated knowledge of government donor and/or institutional rules, regulations, guidelines, and procedures for awarding of financial aid.
Demonstrated knowledge of a specialized area of financial aid such as scholarships, work study, loans, grants, or compliance.
Experience using Salesforce and PeopleSoft.
Evidence of effective communication skills.

EdPlus at ASU is located at SkySong, the ASU Scottsdale Innovation Center.
The center houses a diverse business community that links technology, research, education, and entrepreneurship to position ASU and Greater Phoenix as global leaders in the knowledge economy.


Activities are primarily performed in a regular, climate-controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting or standing.
Daily use of desktop or laptop computer is required.
Ability to clearly communicate verbally in English, read, write, see, and hear to perform essential duties.
Regular review of completed tasks.


EdPlus at ASU supports flexible work options, ranging from alternate work schedules to hybrid remote work schedules, subject to approvals per ASU policy.
