Financial Services Technician I Location Pontiac, MI : Job Summary Under limited supervision, performs a variety of clerical accounting duties in one of various County divisions. May maintain a complete set of books for less complex funds in assigned unit including posting standard and general journal entries, or be proficient in establishing, maintaining and/or posting information to on-line computer client accounts. Performs a wide range of moderately complex bookkeeping duties according to established unit procedures related to the proper registration, payment processing and maintenance of client service accounts. Prepares and sends billing notices, collects payments, and posts receipts for various fees. Reviews accounts and when appropriate issues notices of delinquency and demands for payment according to established schedule. Work may require knowledge of court related reimbursement processes and Judgements of Sentence. Performs clerical accounting duties including preparing financial statements of the least complex funds and posting and processing for all funds regardless of complexity. Utilizes current Countywide and/or department specific software to complete assignments.

Must be a high school graduate or have a certificate of successful completion of the General Educational Development Test. 2. Have had one (1) year of full-time bookkeeping and related clerical work experience which involved basic accounting or bookkeeping principles, utility billing which included customer service, or a closely related area. NOTE: One (1) year of coursework at an accredited college or university in a business curriculum which included at least two accounting classes, may substitute for the one (1) year of experience listed above. Parental Leave can be utilized for both the birth and adoption of a child. Affordable on-site child care for infants to five years old for children of County employees; also provides a school-age summer camp program.
