We are searching for a Front Office Specialist – TCP Friendswood to coordinate and perform the scheduling of patients, receive and greet visitors, answer and handle incoming calls, coordinate the referral process, enter accurate billing information into the system, and transmit accurate claims.

Demonstrates SMILES and AIDET philosophies to patients, families, and coworkers: Acknowledges the customerIdentifies selfKeeps customers informed by explaining all tasks, processes, and proceduresThanks the customerAdheres to Standards of BehaviorTasks are measured by observation of evaluatorResponsibilities: Greets patients and visitors upon arrival utilizing Creating SMILES philosophies and AIDET principles.Assists patients with check-in/check-out.Schedules appointments.Verifies accurate patient demographic information with each visit.Enters data into electronic health record and electronic billing system.Answers telephone within three (3) rings and directs calls per practice protocol.Enters hospital charges into electronic billing system with 100% accuracy and within timelines established.Balances payments received daily.Assesses patient's eligibility for referral by verifying coverage with payer prior to initiating referral.Documents eligibility in the electronic health record per practice protocol.Identifies and documents network providers for appropriate referral.Notifies provider when no provider in network is available.Completes paperwork and documentation for authorized referrals within two (2) business days.Enters referrals into electronic health record within two (2) business days of receiving request from provider.Assists patients, per practice protocol, in setting appointments for referred services.Assists patients, per practice protocol, who have emergencies or have self-referred without prior authorization.About Texas Children's: Texas Children's Pediatrics is the nation's largest primary pediatric care network with more than 200 physicians dedicated to the health care needs of infants to teenagers in over 50 locations throughout the greater Houston area.
