As the Full Stack Engineer, you'll be adept at quickly creating data-rich web applications and managing the infrastructure that supports them. In addition, you should be comfortable working with APIs and databases to ensure seamless integration of front-end applications with back-end systems.
Key Responsibilities: Front-end Development: Design and develop user-friendly, performant web applications and interfaces for visualizing air quality data. Collaborate with designers to create engaging and intuitive UI/UX. Maintain and improve test coverage.Prototyping and Deployment: Rapidly build and iterate on product prototypes to test new ideas and gather feedback. Deploy and maintain web applications using modern development frameworks and tools.Back-end Integration: Architect RESTful and GraphQL APIs following best practices. Ensure seamless integration with databases and other back-end systems.Infrastructure Management: Manage the deployment pipeline, ensuring reliable and scalable application delivery in our cloud infrastructure. Implement best practices for security, performance, and code quality.Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists and product managers, to align technical solutions with business goals. Participate in code reviews and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement. Lead engineering discussions and write documentation, especially articulating technical concepts for non-technical audiences.Qualifications: Remote, but Bay Area candidates are preferred. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 3-5+ years of experience in full-stack web development. You are a generalist who does what it takes to solve problems and delight users. Experience with our tech stack which includes: React, Typescript, Next.js, GraphQL, Mapbox, Python, Postgres/PostGIS, Kubernetes, Docker, and Google Cloud Platform. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with geospatial and temporal data processing and management. Experience with data visualization and web mapping technologies. Experience with IoT and real-time data processing systems. Knowledge of data engineering and security best practices.

Pay Transparency The base salary range for this full-time exempt position if located in the SF Bay Area, New York City, Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago, Washington DC, or Seattle metro region is $118,000 - $189,000 + equity + benefits. For all other regions, the range is $94,000 - $152,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location, and are informed by current market data provided by Carta Total Comp.
