Ascendo Resources is actively seeking a Grants Accountant with Government Contract Billing experience for an immediate, full-time, hybrid, temp-to-perm position.
Our client, a non-profit organization, is located in NYC, NY 10018.
The work schedule is 3 days onsite and 2 days work-from-home.
The Grants Accountant will be responsible for managing/billing government contracts (city/state), processing vouchers/claims, budget modifications, etc.
This role requires a strong understanding of government contract billing and compliance, ensuring the timely submission of accurate financial reports and adherence to fiscal guidelines.
Hours: Mon-Fri, (9am-5pm) 35 hour work week
Pay Rate: $35/hr - $38/hr
Salary: $70k - $75k
Key Responsibilities: Prepare and submit government contract billings and financial reports accurately and on time.
Assist in contract renewals, registrations, and maintain proper documentation for all government contracts.
Support annual audits, including CFR, SEFA, and funder audits.
Assist with the preparation and submission of government contract budgets, modifications, and advance/new need requests.
Ensure contract cost allocations align with approved budgets and communicate variances to the Director and Controller.
Prepare monthly financial reports for review in meetings.
Provide ad-hoc financial analysis as needed.
Stay informed about reporting requirements for all BG funding agencies.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field; CPA preferred.
1+ years of experience in accounting with government contracts management.
Experience in government contract billing for Federal, State, and City agencies (DHS, DOHMH, HASA, HUD, OMH).
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
