What We're Looking For
We are looking for a strategic, business-minded, driven legal expert to build legal at Perchwell.
As Perchwell's Head of Legal, you will be responsible for overseeing all legal matters for Perchwell and play a pivotal role in facilitating the future growth of the company.
You'll be the primary legal advisor providing strategic guidance that drives business objectives and guiding our commercial agreements and product matters while ensuring regulatory compliance.
You need to have a strong sense of ownership, are inquisitive and enthusiastic about complex data and software solutions, enjoy being continually challenged, and can demonstrate sound judgment in ambiguous situations.
This role requires a strong understanding of enterprise commercial contract negotiation, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
Please note that this role will require you to be in-person at our NYC HQ in SoHo 4 days/week.
What You'll Do Contracting: Oversee the drafting, review, and negotiation of all contracts, including complex commercial contracts with enterprise customers and vendor contracts Strategic Legal Counsel: Provide proactive and strategic legal advice to the executive team and business leaders on a wide range of legal matters, including startup corporate governance, commercial transactions, data privacy, and employment law Ensure compliance with state regulations Provide expert, ethical, and pragmatic legal advice on various matters as a cross functional business partner to departments, notably People, Product, Security & GTM Understand and learn about the evolving legal structures in the US residential real estate technology landscape Who You Are Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and admission to the bar in New York State 8+ years as an attorney, with a mix of big law firm and in-house experience, preferably in high-growth B2B SaaS startups Ability to drive/own commercial contracting and relevant operational components History of selective transactional work ie.
fundraising rounds though specifically with M&A as buy vs. build Ability to think structurally and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Proven track record of providing strategic legal advice to senior leadership Nice To Have Domain expertise in the residential real estate market Salary Information
To provide greater transparency to candidates, we share base salary ranges for all US-based job postings regardless of state.
Our ranges are based on function and level benchmarked against similar stage growth companies.
Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including skills, job-related knowledge and depth of work experience.
The base compensation range for this position is expected to be between $190,000-$235,000/year + equity + benefits.
