Head Of Recruiting Sourcing

Details of the offer

About Anthropic Anthropic's mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.

About the Role:  Anthropic is seeking an experienced Head of Recruiting Sourcing to build and lead our strategic talent sourcing function. In this pivotal role, you will develop and execute innovative sourcing strategies to identify and engage exceptional talent across research, engineering, executive, and other critical functions. As we continue to grow, you will build a world-class strategic talent sourcing team focused on proactively identifying candidates for our most challenging and specialized roles while ensuring our talent pipeline reflects our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

This role will report to the Head of Talent.

Responsibilities: Build and lead a high-performing sourcing team that partners effectively with recruiting, hiring managers, and leadership to develop targeted sourcing strategies Design and implement innovative sourcing programs to identify and engage passive candidates for specialized technical and research roles Develop and maintain talent market intelligence to inform hiring strategies and provide insights to leadership on talent trends, compensation, and competitive landscape Create and execute strategies to build diverse talent pipelines across all key roles Partner with leadership to understand upcoming hiring needs and proactively build talent pools Establish metrics and reporting frameworks to measure sourcing effectiveness and drive continuous improvement Lead the development and curation of talent communities and maintain relationships with potential candidates Implement and optimize sourcing tools and technologies to enhance team effectiveness Collaborate with employer branding initiatives to strengthen Anthropic's presence in key talent markets Provide strategic guidance on complex hiring initiatives and new market entry strategies You may be a good fit if you: Have 12+ years of recruiting experience, with at least 4 years leading sourcing teams, preferably in AI/ML, research, or similar technical domains Have demonstrated success building sourcing functions from the ground up in high-growth environments Possess deep knowledge of sourcing tools, techniques, and best practices Have experience developing diverse talent pipelines and implementing inclusive sourcing strategies Are skilled at analyzing talent market data and translating insights into actionable strategies Have excellent relationship-building abilities and can influence at all levels of an organization Are passionate about finding creative solutions to complex talent acquisition challenges Have strong project management skills and can drive multiple concurrent initiatives Care deeply about Anthropic's mission to develop safe and beneficial AI systems Strong candidates may also: Have experience sourcing for AI research, ML engineering, or other highly technical roles Possess knowledge of global talent markets and experience building international sourcing strategies Demonstrate a track record of implementing innovative sourcing programs that measurably improved hiring outcomes Show experience with data analytics and visualization tools for talent market analysis Bring a background in technical recruiting or a technical field Demonstrate understanding of AI safety and alignment concepts Deadline to apply:  We will close this public posting on January 8, 2025. Please note that Anthropic is closed for business December 23, 2024 through January 1, 2025 and we will begin reviewing applications once we return from break. The expected salary range for this position is:

Annual Salary:
$275,000—$340,000 USD Logistics Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices.

Visa sponsorship: We do sponsor visas! However, we aren't able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. But if we make you an offer, we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa, and we retain an immigration lawyer to help with this.

We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification. Not all strong candidates will meet every single qualification as listed.  Research shows that people who identify as being from underrepresented groups are more prone to experiencing imposter syndrome and doubting the strength of their candidacy, so we urge you not to exclude yourself prematurely and to submit an application if you're interested in this work. We think AI systems like the ones we're building have enormous social and ethical implications. We think this makes representation even more important, and we strive to include a range of diverse perspectives on our team.

How we're different We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.

The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.

Come work with us! Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.
