Head Women's Volleyball Coach The Head Women's Volleyball Coach is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the University of Mary's NCAA Division II Women's Volleyball program, including strategic planning, budgeting, recruitment, personnel management, and fostering relationships within the community. A key responsibility is the enthusiastic implementation of and personal investment in the University's 'Greatness Through Virtue'  whole-person development model. Essential Roles and Responsibilities Include: Scholar-Athlete & Team Academic SuccessDemonstrates a strong commitment to academic excellenceProvides guidance to scholar-athletes to ensure a balance between academics and athletics, promoting satisfactory academic progressStays informed on NCAA Division II and NSIC eligibility requirementsDevelops and implements criteria and success plans to support scholar-athletes' academic growthScholar-Athlete & Team Athletic SuccessExhibits a dedication to athletic successStrives for a winning record or consistent improvement within the programCreates and executes a clear, effective recruitment strategy for scholar-athletesDemonstrates strong recruitment skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with other athletics department membersPossesses the knowledge necessary to enhance athletic performance and successScholar-Athlete & Team ComplianceMaintains up-to-date knowledge and compliance with University, NSIC, and NCAA rules and regulations, ensuring all aspects of the program adhere to these standardsScholar-Athlete Leadership & Whole Person DevelopmentPromotes the 'Greatness Through Virtue' whole-person development modelFosters a positive team culture rooted in Solidarity & HarmonyDevelops and emphasizes Virtuous Leadership among scholar-athletesScholar-Athlete Safety, Health & Well BeingEnsures the well-being of scholar-athletes, through access to and enhancement of:Athletic trainingMental health servicesNutritional guidanceTeam travel logisticsHousing coordinationEstablishment of team policies and proceduresProviding individual counseling and supportCommunity IntegrationDevelops and implements strategic marketing and social media plansEnhances the fan experience during gamesEncourages faculty and student body involvementBuilds strong traditions to promote engagement within the programProgram ManagementDemonstrates fiscal responsibility, including management of the budget, scholarships, scheduling, and student-athlete supportEnsures the smooth operation of the volleyball program with the support of the athletics departmentAthletic FundraisingActively participates in promoting and growing the Marauders ArmadaCreates and maintains fundraising activities for the volleyball programQualifications include:Bachelor's degree requiredMasters' degree preferredA minimum of 3-5 years of previous coaching experience requiredUpholds and promotes the Christian, Catholic, Benedictine mission of the University of MarySupports the ongoing implementation of Ex Corde Ecclesiae, the apostolic constitution on Catholic colleges and universitiesBuilds a culture of ready and earnest hospitality in the Office of Intercollegiate Athletics and throughout the university in accord with Saint Benedict's admonition that all be received as ChristKnowledge and Skills include:Ability to integrate the 'Greatness Through Virtue' core strategies and promote the growth of scholar-athletesExperience balancing academic and athletic responsibilities for scholar-athletesDemonstrated integrity, professionalism, and strong communication skillsAbility to maintain an organized, professional work environment and meet reporting deadlinesStrong prioritization skills and ability to work independentlyExperience working collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders, including scholar-athletes, faculty, parents, and staffUnderstanding of best practices for supporting scholar-athletes, particularly those at risk for attritionKnowledge of federal laws and regulations regarding higher educationFamiliarity with NCAA Division II and NSIC rules and regulationsFor more information about the University of Mary, please watch a short video here: University of Mary Video Review of application materials will begin immediately.  Position will remain open until filled.
