Heavy Civil Project Manager: GPAC is actively seeking a dynamic and motivated Project Manager with experience in the heavy civil construction industry. Scope(s) of work that may be involved in this full-time, direct-hire position include but are not limited to; Excavation & Grading, Underground Utilities, Asphalt or Concrete Paving/Placement and Roadway/Bridge Construction.
The Project Manager will be responsible for oversight and management for construction projects. In addition, the Project Manager will work with Project Engineers, Estimators, Superintendents, and additional staff to ensure the satisfaction of contractual expectations of the client and subcontractors relative to the objectives, goals, and specifications of project. The candidate will participate in the conceptual development of a construction project and oversee its organization, scheduling, and implementation from mobilization through closeout.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Reviews project proposal or plan to determine the timeframe, funding limitations, project procedures, staffing requirements, and available resources to various phases of project. Establishes work plan and staffing for each phase of project - arranges for recruitment or assignment of project personnel. Confers with project staff to outline work plan, assign duties/responsibilities and authority. Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure work progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget. Reviews status reports from project personnel and modifies schedules/plans as needed. Prepares project reports for management, client, or others. Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems. Coordinates project activities with activities of governmental agencies and subcontractors. Understands and is able to analyze and execute project schedules. Other tasks and duties as assigned. Qualifications/Skills:
Degree: Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar (preferred) Minimum of 3 years experience as Project Manager OR Project Engineer with a Heavy Civil Construction Contractor Strong working knowledge of construction practices and procedures Safety- Minded When applying to this position, it is preferred that the applicant includes a partial or full list, summary, note of prior completed projects.
