The Wastewater Division manages the daily operations of Southlake's sewer system.
The Division supports the collection system to over 7,500 sanitary sewer customers and repairs and performs preventative maintenance on over 200 miles of wastewater pipeline, as well as 13 collection system lift stations.
Specifically, the Heavy Equipment Operator, Wastewater operates a variety of heavy equipment in the maintenance, repair, replacement, and development of the streets and drainage systems, water distribution, sewer collection systems, or parkland and recreation facilities.
This is accomplished by operating tractor backhoes, crane hoists, motor graders, Gradall excavators, crack sealers, tractors for mowing, gas and electrical metal welders, hydraulic sewer main cleaners, and/or other equipment and machinery.
Other duties include assisting other departments and divisions as necessary.

* Possession of a Class B Commercial Texas Driver's License and the ability to obtain a Tanker Endorsement within 6 months of hire date.
* Possession of Class II Wastewater Collections (preferred) and/or a TCEQ (Texas Commission on Environmental Quality) Class C Water Distribution license.
* Work requires unusual hours and ability to be on call after business hours.
