Para Educator
Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Special Education Teaching Assistant (also known as Para Educators).
The Para Educator is an individual who works one on one with students requiring generalized assistance to meet their behavioral and instructional needs, under the direct supervision of school professionals or other behavioral specialists.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Follows through with Individualized Education Plan objectives at the direction of school professionals Supervises and assists students throughout the day Communicates pertinent information to teachers and can assist with generalized classroom duties Documents session per policy and procedures.
Strictly adheres to confidentiality requirements Assists with activities of prescribed programs Assists students in the development of independent skills through self-care activities such as toileting, clothing routines and personal hygiene Assists Behavioral Specialist or Teacher with implementation of behavior management techniques Follows Right Response guidelines to de-escalate students when presenting verbal or physical aggression (De-escalation training provided but candidate must be comfortable with a potentially aggressive environment) Requirements: Associates Degree OR completion of Master Teacher Exam (Provided by company) Attendance to in person PAID trainings 1+ years of experience working with children in a personal or professional capacity Experience with special needs or learning disabilities preferred Adaptable and flexible in a fast paced, and sometimes changing environment Passion for providing care to students with special needs Pay Rate - $22+ depending on experience
Hours - 32.5/week
Schedule - Monday- Friday
Location - Spanaway, Graham, Frederickson
