Description
The HIWU Scrum Master is a dynamic member of the Horseracing Integrity & Welfare Unit (HIWU), a division of Drug Free Sport International/International Doping Tests & Management (DFSI-IDTM).
The person in this role will work closely with HIWU product leadership, development partners and the internal HIWU team members to orchestrate the product development and scrum process for our clients and internal teams.
They will liaison with DFSI-IDTM IT and HIWU Operational team members to ensure the teams have clear direction, priority and definition for the backlog.
The HIWU Scrum Master will establish and maintain metrics and tools that will help the development partners and leadership understand the progress of projects and investments.
The role will establish process and procedures driving improved predictability, efficiency and quality for focus areas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assess the Agile Maturity of the team and work to drive to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization.
Responsible for managing the scrum process providing coordination across all teams.
Manage schedule and facilitation of ceremonies.
Establish, maintain and report metrics that clearly communicate status, progress and risks of organization investments in products and initiatives.
Facilitate discussion, decision making and conflict resolution.
Assist with internal and external communication for the development teams, improving transparency and radiating information.
Serve as key point person with outside developers and contractors to ensure alignment of development initiatives.
Lead, guide, coordinate and facilitate communication meetings and requirements prioritization to ensure smooth collaboration among teams and stakeholders.
Manage and prioritize product backlog, ensuring the most valuable features are delivered in a timely manner.
Act as a liaison between the product team, development team and other stakeholders by fostering effective communication and understanding.
Produce user guides and release notes to ensure effective implementation with upgrades and new releases.
Proactively evaluate feedback at each iteration of a project, implementing continuous improvement based on user needs and market trends.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements
To successfully perform this role, the individual will be a process-driven thinker with a passion for streamlining processes and applying analytical skills for clear and effective communication.
The HIWU Scrum Master will uphold the company core values and vision, demonstrate integrity to the highest degree, and have a high desire to serve the Thoroughbred horse racing industry, constituents and colleagues.
Essentials skills and qualifications include but not limited to: Minimum of bachelor's degree in business administration, computer science or related field.
Proven experience as a Business Analyst or Product Lead for both iOS applications and web-based user interfaces with a track record of successful project deliveries.
First level Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM I) or equivalency.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to document complex business processes clearly and concisely.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including effectively gather requirements and convey vision of product.
Proficient in critical thinking and problem-solving, with a proactive approach in identifying and addressing challenges.
Demonstrated ability to lead, guide and coordinate cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and managing project backlogs.
Detail-oriented with excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
Pass a pre-employment screening including drug test as permitted by applicable state laws, non-credit background check, confidentiality agreement, degree(s) verification, and professional reference checks.
Preferred qualifications include: Experience configuring JIRA for agile development teams.
Experience with measuring Sprints (velocity, volatility, burn downs).
Knowledge or experience in horse racing anti-doping and medication control.
