Overview:
The Human Resources Specialist serves as an HR Generalist and is responsible for the successful implementation of HR policies and programs at the headquarters office and manufacturing locations. HR functions may include but are not limited to: policy and procedure development, employment/staffing, succession planning, employee training programs, administration of performance management and compensation programs, and employee/labor relations.
Primary Responsibilities:
With the assistance of the HR team and functional/site leadership, manage the talent management lifecycle; recruitment (including participation in interviews), onboarding, training, promotions, retention, and off-boarding (including conducting exit interviews)
Assist with administration of employee development and training programs and learning management system software
Develop employee training content and lead training sessions as requested
Develop expertise in organizational design and job competency profiles for the company
Prepare and deliver employee training related to HR programs, policies, functions, and compliance
Participate in development and implementation of periodic employee surveys, analysis and presentation
Partner with site and functional management to develop and implement HR solutions that support the overall business strategy
Advise managers and supervisors on employment laws and HR policies, programs, and procedures
Analyze information and identify equity concerns and make recommendations for appropriate solutions and promotional opportunities
Advise employees on HR-related issues such as policies, benefits, and other related topics
Conduct investigations into employee misconduct and work with management to determine appropriate responses
Monitor state and local employment regulations and recommend appropriate changes to HR programs/policies to maintain compliance
Participate in local, regional, national, and governmental salary/wage and benefit surveys
Respond to governmental agency requests for information
Job Requirements:
Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or related field and 5 years of related experience
Solid foundation in employee relations
Strong computer skills - Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Strong coordination, communication, facilitation, organization, and interpersonal skills
Comfortable working with all levels of the organization
Should be a self-starter, be an active participant on teams, and proactively meet with customers to meet their needs
Must possess a high degree of discretion and care with confidentiality
Ability to manage large workloads and prioritize efficiently
Good decision making, sound business judgement and analytical skills
Travel required – up to 50%
Preferences:
HR work experience in a manufacturing setting and experience in a chemical or plastics industry
Business coursework including accounting and finance
Experience delivering soft skills training to a variety of audiences
Experience in report writing for ADP Workforce Now
Bi-lingual in English/Spanish is a plus
Relocation is not available with this position.
