Second, we produce innovative sleeping bag coats, which are distributed to those who are unsheltered globally.

Position Summary
The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for the administration and coordination of routine functions in the Human Resources (HR) department including recruitment and onboarding of fellows, administering pay, benefits, and leave, employee relations, and enforcing company policies and practices.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Implement, develop, and recommend personnel policies, procedures, and programs.In coordination with the VP of People & Culture, provide one-on-one employee relations counseling and disciplinary action as needed.Investigate complaints and performance issues; provide recommendations consistent with standards, practices, policies, regulations, or government law to effectively resolve problems.Serve as a steward for organizational culture and promote cooperation, continuous improvement, and open and respectful communication.Manage timekeeping and payroll systems; responsible for bi-weekly payroll and resulting reports and entering and updating employee information; maintain FMLA, PFL, and other LOAs.Administer payroll advance program.Maintain accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.Answer frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of human resource conversations, files, and records.Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.Conduct interviews and new hire orientation for program fellows.Assist with planning and execution of special events such as benefit enrollment, team meetings, employee recognition events, and team celebrations.Reconcile monthly invoices, document discrepancies and recommend solutions to the VP.Compile and complete letters, correspondence, and verifications of employment as needed.Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices.Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.Administer health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes, and terminations.
Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions.Perform customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.Complete Form I-9, verify I-9 documentation and maintain I-9 files.Reconciles benefits statements.Assists with processing of terminations.Assist with the preparation of the performance review process.Track the status of candidates and respond with follow-up letters at the end of the recruiting process.Schedule meetings and interviews as requested by the VP.Files documents into appropriate employee files.Prepares new-employee files.Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidentialsituations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Working understanding of human resource principles, practices, and procedures.Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Suites.Proficient with payroll management, human resource information systems (HRIS), andsimilar computer applications.Five years of HR managerial experience is preferred.Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.Interest in and passion for the mission of the Empowerment Plan.
