[Hybrid] Vice President, Strategic Product Management (Operational Risk Department)

This role will reside within the Firm's Operational Risk Department on the Strategic Product Management (SPM) team supporting Governance and Strategic Initiatives.

Operational Risk refers to the risk of financial or other loss, or potential damage to a firm's reputation, resulting from inadequate or failed internal processes, people, systems, or from external events (e.g., fraud, legal and compliance risks or damage to physical assets). The Firm may incur operational risk across the full scope of its business activities, including revenue-generating activities (e.g., sales and trading) and control groups (e.g., information technology and trade processing).

The ORD SPM team leads the implementation of strategic ORD initiatives spanning Risk Management and Morgan Stanley. The successful candidate will partner with ORD senior management and SPM team leads to establish holistic reporting across all the teams while also ensuring teams are producing consistent status and program reporting. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for establishing and hosting all SPM level ceremonies.

Primary Responsibilities
-  Establish holistic program status reporting which resonates with senior management
-  Design and coordinate meeting content and materials across multiple stakeholders both within and external to Risk Management with focus on senior level communication
-  Support governance responsibilities including maintaining committee charters, memberships, minutes, procedures, and meeting agendas
-  Provide thought leadership on setting governance standards across SPM forums
-  Assist in development and implementation of strategic projects for ORD, including cross-functional and regulatory initiatives to deliver Operational Risk Management transformation
-  Track and report project status and issues/risk reporting
-  Facilitate communications and collaboration across teams and stakeholders
-  Assist SPM squads with improving efficiency and delivery quality
-  Bachelor's degree required
-  5-7 years of financial services, consulting, or related experience
-  Proficiency in Agile methodology
-  Knowledge of System Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
-  Exceptional written and verbal communicator; excellent with creating PowerPoint presentations
-  Detail-oriented and organized
-  Strong relationship builder
-  Ability to think both strategically and tactically
-  Project management across broad constituencies
-  Inquisitive with a focus on information sharing
-  Exceptional problem solver possessing solid analytical abilities
-  Effective multi-tasker who can deliver under tight deadlines

Experience Preferred

-  Extensive experience in Agile methodology including a Scrum Master Certification or Agile coaching experience
-  Project Management Certification

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between 110000 and 190000per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
