SHOULD YOU ACCEPT THIS CHALLENGE…
Pure Storage is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Test Engineer with experience in flash modules or flash storage solutions to join ourhyperscale line of business. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the performance, quality, and reliability of our storage products by developing and implementing robust test strategies. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and contract manufacturers + JDMs to bring new products from prototype to mass production, with a focus on optimizing test processes for scalability and efficiency in high-volume manufacturing environments.
Given the collaborative nature of this role, which includes onboarding contract manufacturers + JDMs for servers and direct flash modules (DFMs), some responsibilities will overlap with technical program management (TPM). You will work closely with our storage solutions development teams and external partners to deploy scalable, automated testing solutions. Your expertise in testing methodologies will be key in driving strategic decisions and ensuring comprehensive test coverage.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING...
New Product Introduction (NPI):Collaborate with Engineering teams to release new NAND Flash storage products into production, ensuring test readiness and seamless handoff to manufacturing.
Onboarding contract manufacturer(s) to build our direct flash modules (DFMs) and informing them of test requirements
Test Coverage Analysis:Perform analysis of schematic layouts to determine test coverage, ensuring that all critical components are adequately tested for functionality and reliability.
Test Infrastructure and Framework:Improve and expand existing test infrastructure and frameworks to enhance the overall efficiency and scalability of manufacturing tests.
Design for Test (DFT):Provide Design for Test (DFT) guidelines to engineering teams to ensure products are optimized for manufacturability and testability from the early stages of development.
Troubleshooting Complex PCBAs:Lead troubleshooting efforts on complex printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) and systems during new product development phases to resolve issues and ensure smooth product launches.
Manufacturing Test Plans:Review and refine manufacturing test plans and test requirement documentation to ensure comprehensive test coverage for new products being introduced to market.
Test Automation Development:Develop and implement new test scripts and automated testing solutions for upcoming storage products, ensuring repeatability and reliability in high-volume environments.
Production Test Support:Collaborate with and provide guidance to production test teams, assisting in the enhancement of automated test processes and troubleshooting of production-related issues.
Failure Metrics and Analysis:Define and analyze key metrics related to failures observed during manufacturing tests, driving continuous improvement in product quality and process efficiency.
Data Integration:Integrate with existing test data infrastructure to ensure comprehensive test data collection, analysis, and reporting, working closely with internal teams to enhance visibility into test results.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM.....
Proven NPI Expertise:Extensive experience in New Product Introduction (NPI), successfully bringing cutting-edge products to market, preferred experience in flash storage products.
Strong Technical Background:In-depth understanding of production and test processes for complex PCBAs and systems, ensuring reliability and quality in high-volume manufacturing environments.
Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, Labview, or similar programming language
Educational Background:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
Hardware Bring-up and Debug Skills:Hands-on experience with the bring-up and debugging of complex PCBAs and systems, ensuring smooth transitions from development to production.
Technical Tool Proficiency:Experience with hardware lab equipment for test, measurement, and/or prototyping (e.g. oscilloscope, power supply, DMM, etc.)
Adaptability in Fast-Paced Environments:Demonstrated ability to thrive in a rapid-paced, collaborative, and dynamic office environment.
Willingness to Travel:Availability to travel 15% to 20% to global manufacturing sites, especially during new product launches, to oversee and ensure successful implementation.
