Job Summary:

The Infrastructure Architect will be instrumental in designing, implementing and maintaining Smiths IT infrastructure including its global server, network and telecommunication system and is responsible for ensuring we keep up with the latest best practices. Exceptional analytical skills are required to troubleshoot issues and deliver secure and stable infrastructure to support the global business operation. This entails conducting system and network planning and analysis to identify the most appropriate technology aligned with business objectives. The Infrastructure Architect ensures the seamless integration of technology to support organizational goals and enhance operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for complete infrastructure design, systems analysis, security of on-prem data center and Cloud platforms

• Evaluate current systems, review new systems, and provide alternate solutions and improvements

• Manage and maintain server resources, throughout for the global IT system.

• Manage and maintain company's global infrastructure architectural design and work with team lead for the implementation.

• Continuous improvement of server and network system by monitoring and evaluating the system technology and approach.

• Works with server and network team to maintain and collaborate future planning and evaluate the change plan for short and long term.

• Participates in the change control, production acceptance and event management processes

• Manage global server capacity and provide server utilization statistics for capacity planning

• Performs installations and configurations of multiple virtualization technologies and Operating Systems (i.e., VMware, ESX, Windows, Linux, etc.)

• Communicates, validates, and drives short & long-term architecture strategy for the overall IT project portfolio across IT Teams and conducts end-to-end technical plan design.

• Participates in proof of concepts to assist in defining technology direction and enabling business strategy.

• Develops long-term strategy for historical data retention and archival plan for storage needs

• Develops enterprise standards to ensure compatibility and integration of multi-vendor platforms

• Develops infrastructure designs for the implementation of new solutions

• Responsible for impact analysis and design modifications to existing systems to support new solutions

• Collaborates with Project Managers and technical directors to provision estimates, develop overall implementation solution plan; serve as a lead to implement the installation, customization, deployment and integration efforts.

• Performs related duties as required.

Requirements (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

• Cloud Platform Certification such as AWS, AZURE

• Knowledge of Technology Enterprise architectures that include multiple hardware and software environments including complex heterogeneous systems; Computer and Network system design such as VMWare, Active Directory, Azure AD, and AWS

• Skilled in the development and presentation of overall architecture solutions

• Proficient in analytical planning and organization/time management skills

• Ability to share and communicate ideas clearly, both orally and in writing in clear concise language that is appropriate technical and management group

• Ability to work with people from all departments in the company with varying degrees of computer/technology knowledge

• Minimum 5 years' experience working as server or network manager to manage hybrid server environment, running on Cisco network environment.

• Minimum 5 years global network Design and Implementation experience.

• Exceptional Analytical Skills; 10 years of combined relevant experience and education as manager or technical architect in Infrastructure team with global infrastructure setup.

Education:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or MIS.

Experience:

Minimum of eight years of experience as Global Infrastructure Architect or relevant role, including managing resources and projects Other: May require working nights and weekends. Work
